Tuesday Topics- On Wednesday. Forgive me?

Hey friends!

First off, I've slacked this week already and I'm so, so sorry! My Mr. has been working and going to different training courses, which resulted in working 7 days straight, being off 2, and then working 7 more. So- since that's all over, he is off this ENTIRE WEEK. There are no words to explain how excited I am about this. Also? I'm sad that Wednesday is here because that means his week is half way over. We've really been making the most out of our time. He threw me an amazing birthday party on Saturday night with some of my closest friends (more on that later) and yesterday we went on our final walk through of our new house! Yes, you read that right. OUR NEW HOUSE! Our closing date is set for February 15, but we've gotten everything turned in super early, so our realtor thinks we may close as early as next week! Once again, I'll be writing some more on this  (and sharing some pictures) very soon.
So- with all of that, plus taking care of my sweet little one, I've most definitely fallen behind. And normally I would cut my losses and just wait for next Tuesday to roll around to join in on the par-tay, but I LOVE this Tuesday's (er, Wednesday's) topic. So, here we go!

Thanks again to Lauren and Tiffany for hosting this link up, and especially for picking this particular topic.

Wow, oh wow. How do I even begin to start? First off, I decided to narrow these to my top 6 memories from the past few years, because picking 6 from my whole life? Well, that's just too hard.

1) The first time I ever saw this face.
There are no words to express the amount of overwhelming love I felt for my precious boy. I had been in labor for over 40 hours and then had a c-section, and somehow all of this magically left my mind and all I could think about was my baby. I couldn't believe that my hubby and I were the lucky ones chosen to be his parents. My other (way less monumental) thought was that I was afraid to hold him at first because I was hooked up to so many things. I really thought
I might get my baby tangled up in my wires.
And now? He is looking so much more grown up. I'm so proud and a little sad all at the same time.

2) Marrying this guy.
I cannot imagine for one moment what my life would be like without him. He knows what I'm thinking pretty much all the time, and sometimes I have some crazy thoughts, so this is a pretty impressive thing. He makes me feel so safe and protected and loved. He is my best friend and the best man I've ever known.
 3) Going on my very first cruise (and our honeymoon) with my main man.

In case you were wondering- we are goofballs. And neither one of us would have it any other way. Sure, I got a little seasick, and you bet I lost ridiculous amounts of money playing bingo, but we had the best time ever. By the way- that is my hubby's cruise hat. Also? He wore it the other night while he was packing up his closet for the big move. We were most definitely meant to be.

4) Watching my man graduate from police academy.
I have never been more proud of him in my life. He worked so hard during academy. It was especially hard because he still had a couple of  months left to go after we got married, so for our first couple of months being married, we didn't get to see each other every day. Being away from him really gives me more respect than I already had for so many military families. I know that a couple of months is nothing in comparison to an entire year or more, but it is always hard to be away from someone you love.
Plus, isn't he handsome in a uniform?

5) Graduating college ( and about 4809230420384092834 other memories from those four years.)

We were the Bobcats, so naturally we decided to act like one. You can call us crazy if you'd like.

6) Finding our very first house.
We searched and searched for the perfect house for us, and then we found it! We cannot wait to officially close on it and move on in.

So, what are your top 6 memories?

Mags

Tuesday Topics- 7 People

Hey friends!

Today I'm teaming up with Lauren and Tiffany for Tuesday Topics. I absolutely love this link up! Not only have I found some awesome blogs to follow, the topics are super fun, too.
The Austin Family Diary

This week, we are at number 7- 7 People You'd Like to Meet. So- here we go. Here are my 7, in no particular order because it's my blog and I get to call the shots. :)

7) Ellen Degeneres
Ok, she is the most hilarious person in the world to me. I love, love, love her talk show. But even more importantly, she is a strong woman with a kind heart who truly cares about those around her and is not afraid to speak her mind and be honest. I think meeting her would just be fabulous. She just seems so genuine.

6) Bruno Mars
I'm not sure if it's the catchy lyrics, way-too-fun beats, or the the way he danced with his microphone stand when my Mr. took me to a concert a couple of years ago- but I cannot get enough of Bruno. And his live performances are seriously even better than his recordings. I think this is really rare in the music world today. I already want to go to another concert of his. His dancing is out of control. As a matter of fact, it would be pretty fun to meet Ellen and Bruno at the same time. I'm pretty sure we'd all just dance like crazy.

5) My Grandpa
My mom's daddy passed away when she was 13 and I've gone my whole life hearing stories about this handsome, funny, charming man. Judging by what I've heard, I'm pretty sure we would've been best buddies.

4) Paula Deen
Seriously. She's my fave. Ever. All I want to do have a cooking day with her. She is sassy, funny, and a wonderful chef.

3) Giuliana Rancic
I love this girl. She is so strong and has been through so much. I've laughed with her, cried with her, and celebrated with her. I want to meet her and have a play date with her, Will, and baby Duke. The boys are about the same age, and I'm pretty sure they'd be bffs. I mean, they both love their hands and they're both pretty funny.

(Baby Duke)                                                                                                 (Baby Will)

2) Julia Roberts.
So let's be honest. If I actually ever did see her (which I guess could potentially be possible since she's from the peach, too) I would say really awkward and dumb things because I'd be just that star struck. I'd want to come across as calm, cool, and collected, but seriously? I'm hardly ever these things, so I most definitely wouldn't be this way in front of her. She's amazing. And a Georgia girl. And beautiful in a totally unique way. I'm not sure if she'd be nice or not, though I'd like to think she would be.

1) Jesus.
I know. It's really weird to add His name to a list that with the exception of my Grandpa, is pretty much full of celebrities. But then again, I think it would be impossible to make this list without adding Him. There are so many questions I'd have. So many things I wonder about. But more than the questions, I'd want to thank Him. Thank him for my wonderful husband and the most wonderful baby boy in the world. For amazing family and friends that I don't know what I'd do without. For putting a roof over our heads and for always making sure everything is ok. My thankful list would go on and on and now that I think about it, I don't know if I'd ever even get around to my questions.

So, join in on this link up. Who would you like to meet?

Love,

Oh, Boy! You're 5 Months Old!

Oh Will,

Every time I sit down to type one of these monthly letters I am struck with this bittersweet feeling. I so love watching you grown and learn new things. There is nothing that makes me happier than listening to you laugh or talk. But then I realize how quickly things change. I know, I know. If you read this one day, you're going to think, "Man, my mom's a nut." You just never understand how quickly time flies until you have kids of your own.

You are such a silly boy. Bath time is your favorite. I think you're going to love the pool and swimming, something I wish I could say you got from me, but something you most definitely got from your awesome daddy. You splash the entire time and it just cracks me up.
Your hair is still growing like crazy. And I love it. You have what your daddy and I lovingly call the "white boy fro." It's precious and I'm pretty sure the ladies are gonna dig it one day.

You've recently learned how to make the toot sound with your mouth. Clearly you are 100% boy. That's been your favorite sound from day 1, so it makes sense that you'd learn it pretty quickly.

You weigh over 15 pounds, yet somehow still fit into some of your 3 month clothes. I'm not gonna lie. This makes me happy. It's just that your clothes are so cute that I always get a little sad when I have to pack up some of my favorites.

There are so many people who love you, Bug. Our little family has been blessed by having a wonderful bigger family and amazing friends who have always been there for us. We are so thankful for all of them.

So, little man, I can't wait to write you your next letter! I'm sure you're going to get into all kinds of new stuff by then.
Love you to the moon and back,
Mommy

Tuesday Topics Link Up!

Hey friends!

First off, my little buggy wants to say hello.

Secondly, today I'm linking up again with Lauren for Tuesday Topics. I love linking up here! Not only have I found some fabulous blogs to follow, but I've found some really fun topics to write about.
The topic? TV shows.
The mission? Our favorite 8.
So... here goes nothing!

8) Bachelor
So if you read my last post, this one and the one after it will be no surprise to you. And if you've ever met me, you know I'm a sucker for all things cheesy, slightly romantic, and entertaining. So- of course I love this show. I don't watch every season of The Bachelor or Bachelorette, but sometimes I get super sucked in. This season is one of those times. The girls are crazier than ever. And the ridiculous shots of Sean working out shirtless? Can't. Get. Enough.
Bachelor Shirtless

7) Teen Mom
Ok. This show is a train wreck. I have my favorites like Maci from TM1 and Kailyn from TM2. I also have some I can't stand. Hello, Jenelle. I'm calling you out. But overall I can't stop watching it. Not only am I interested in their lives, but I love watching their little ones get bigger and bigger.

6) Revenge
My mom got me hooked on this one. My best friend came over and we literally sat and watched about 7 episodes back to back. We only stopped because we ran out of episodes. Ever since then I have kept up with this show. And Emily Thorne? That's one girl I would hate to be at odds with.
Revenge

5) Scandal
Oh, Scandal. Love, love, LOVE this show. It's juicy and crazy and suspenseful. It's the perfect show to watch with your hubby because it really has something in it for everyone.

4) Modern Family
This show is just plain wonderful. End of story. I seriously love every character, but Luke is my favorite. And have you seen any interviews he's done? He's a member of MENSA. This guy is a genius and plays Luke. I loved watching him on Ellen.
The cast of "Modern Family," at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

3) The New Normal
I so wish that I could be a part of their crazy, hilarious, full of love group of family and friends. This show is amazing. I'm pretty sure you should go watch an episode. Like now.

2) Downton Abbey
When this show first started getting popular I really thought it was called "Downtown Abbey." And to be honest, I was kind of bothered to learn that it is "Downton." I don't know why it bothered me. Probably because I didn't know Downton was a word. Go figure. Anyway- Now I can't get enough. Seriously. This is another that I think you'll just love.

1) And my number 1 favorite show in the whole wide world is Parenthood.
I wish there was a new episode every single day. A new one comes on tonight and I'm already excited about it. However, I'm also pretty sad because there are only 2 episodes left for this season. Why in the world are there only 2 left? Breaks my heart. Hopefully they will be back for a 5th season.

So- what are your faves? Link up, find some new shows, and make some new friends over at the link-up.

What You Gonna Do With All That Junk? All That Junk Inside Your...

What you gonna do with all that junk, all that junk inside that...DVR Box?

Hello friends!

This is my first post of the year. Why in the world has it taken me this long to write one? I have no clue. Apparently I've lost my mind.
What I haven't lost this year is my taste for trashy television. And I just LOVE January because that's when all my shows come back on. I mean, whose life could be complete without Scandal, Teen Mom 2, and The Bachelor? And Emily Thorne- get back in my life! I love me some Revenge.
Also- can you tell I don't have a job right now? These are the things I watch when a) I'm feeding my baby boy; b) I should be napping since he is, but can't and c) when I want to be so caught up in something so unrealistic/ridiculous for just a little bit.
Mondays happen to be particularly wonderful since they bring me Teen Mom 2 AND The Bachelor. What what!

So, let's chat about Teen Mom for a minute.

I really wish that I could watch a show just about Maci from the original crew and Kailyn from the TM2 group. But since that can't happen, here's what I think about what's going on.
First off, Jenelle is crazy. Fo' real. I wonder what she thinks about when she watches these episodes. If you think I'm being harsh then you probably didn't catch the one where she thinks she can delay going to JAIL to attend a Ke$ha concert. There are so many things wrong with that idea, including wanting to go a Ke$ha concert.

I love Chelsea. Seriously. But she has got to get over Adam. He is rude and mean and brings nothing positive to the table. I know she's still hurt, but eventually you just have to let go and move on.
Leah is in love with being in love and I wish she'd just make her mind up already. I know that currently she is with her new guy, but in the newest episode she was choosing between her ex hubby and her new guy. I hope she can really commit to this guy.

Kailyn is my fave. I think she's such a good mom to her little guy. She's been through a lot in her life and I am just ready for things to finally go her way.

And now... On to The Bachelor.
Once again, the theme for the night is crazy. But this is my favorite kind of crazy. So much drama. So many sparkly dresses.
Here are my five favorite ladies:

Lesley

Lesley M. She is adorable. I loved her dress last night and I love that she brought a football so she could get a chance to stare at his tush. Nice move, lady. Nice move.

Robyn. She is precious. Not only was her little video super bubbly, but she totally wiped out on her back flip introduction to Sean and still managed to charm him enough to get a rose. I'm pretty sure Robyn and I would be friends.

Desiree

Desiree. She's adorable and sweet. Or at least she's sweet so far. Something's telling me she can be a little feisty and I'm kind of excited to see more of her personality.

Catherine

Catherine. She seems like a genuine, real person. The kind of girl that you hope a nice guy marries. I'm definitely rooting for her. Plus, check out her gorgeous hair.

KacieKacie B. Ok, so apparently she's been on the Bachelor before. I'm just going to have to tell you, I've watched this show for many different seasons, but I missed the Ben season, so she's brand new to me. And I kind of love her. While I thought she was beautiful, her response to crazy Ashley's drunk self was priceless. It was in that reaction that she won me over. Oh, and crazy Ashley is also the one who made me love Sean. In her all-too-awkward attempt at a 50 Shades of Grey remake, he said she she was 50 shades of drunk. I don't think truer words have ever been spoken.

So, friends. These are my faves. And if you missed the first episode, no worries. You can find it online. And I'm pretty sure you might just love it.

Who do you love? Who can't you stand? And who just makes you laugh your head off?
