Liebster Award?! Say What?!

Hey friends!

I got online to check my email this morning and saw that Tiffany from The Momma Bear Diaries nominated me for the Liebster Award! I was so excited, you don't even know.

I've read about the Liebster Award on several different blogs, but I needed to do a little research just to make sure I knew what it meant. Basically it's an award that goes to new bloggers with less than 200 followers. Liebster is German and means sweetheart, beloved person, darling. You get nominated by someone who already has received it.
Here are the rules:
Once you get the nomination, you must list 11 facts about yourself, answer 11 questions that the person who nominated you chose, and then create a list of 11 questions for the 11 people you nominate to answer, and finally, comment on their blogs to let them know you've nominated them. Basically, it's a way to help fellow new bloggers get their blogs out there.

Tiffany, thank you so much for finding my little blog interesting enough to nominate me!

Here are my 11 little things about me:

1) The only bones I've ever broken are the toes right by my pinky toes. I've broken both of them. One at a pool party and the other while I was making up my bed... I know, I'm pretty clumsy.

2) Even though I'm in my mid twenties, I am already finding gray hairs. How is this possible?

3) I was voted friendliest in my senior class in high school, but I'm pretty sure it was just because I love talking and I kept my opinions to myself a little more often back then.

4) I can't stand getting my fingernails or toenails filed. No kidding. While I love pedicures, the entire time the filing happens, my arms and legs are covered in chill bumps. The bad kind.

5) I am seriously directionally challenged. I lived in a very small town while I earned my bachelor and master degrees for 6 years, but could still find a way to get lost. In Athens, I'm pretty sure that I only know how to get to about 5 places with confidence. For everything else, there's Siri. What would I do without that phone?

6) I love buying scrapbook paper and stickers, but I'm almost entirely sure that there is no possible way to use all of the ones I've bought over the years. (I'm also embarrassingly behind on my scrapbooking... I've only done a few pages from our wedding and absolutely zero of Will!)

7) I can't stand refilling ice cube trays. We have an ice maker in our apartment and my parents do at the house, but growing up we didn't always have one. I don't know why I hate it so much, but it was my least favorite thing to do.

8) I have a totally ridiculous fear of the dentist. It's sad to say, but I think in my entire life, I've only gone once without crying. I think it's also important to note that while I'm terrified of the dentist, I didn't cry at all when I had my c-section. I did cry when I found out I was going to have one, and I most definitely cried once he was here, but my nerves about the process were significantly less than going to the dentist. What is wrong with this picture?!

9) I have over 1,000 pictures on my phone. Over 800 are of my baby boy. I am that mom. And I'm not one bit ashamed about it. :)

10) I love checking the mailbox. Seriously. Even if I'm not expecting anything. When something arrives that actually has my name on it, I get so excited. I feel like I won something! And coming to my mail box soon is an ornament from a blog swap and a Christmas care package. I am just SO excited!

11) I would rather pay someone to play with my hair than have a massage. There is nothing more pleasant or relaxing than having someone play with my hair!

And here are the answers to Tiffany's questions:
1. Why did you start blogging?
I really want to be able to reflect back and see my little buggy growing up. I want to remember all of the little details that I know I'm going to miss when he gets older. Plus- I'll be able to print it out in a book and embarrass him by showing it to his future girlfriends.

2. What is your one thing that you do in life that is just for you?
This is a toughie. My first thought was cooking because I just love it, but the thing I love most about it is making someone's day by cooking for them. I'd have to say crafting. There are so many different crafts I love to do and the feeling I get when one turns out better than expected is wonderful!

3.What is your all time favorite color?
I used to have to say pink, but I think I'm actually a bigger fan of aqua.

4. How many kids do you want?
I want three. I always want to have a noisy house with lots of people inside. Growing up, I felt like a lot of times my friends and I hung out at our my house because it was just fun. I want my kids and their friends to feel that same way.

5. If you have children, how did you come up with their names? If you don't have any but want some, do you have names in mind?
So far we only have one little baby. His name is William Hudson. William is a family name and Hudson was just a name that my Mr. picked out that I happened to love.

6. What would you say is the one meal you have perfected over the years?
I think I have a couple. Tater-tot casserole is my hubby's favorite and, to be completely honest, it's so easy. I've also mastered chicken pot pie. It's such a good comfort food, especially this time of the year.

7. How did you meet your husband?
We met during our sophomore year of college. We were both early to history class and we began chatting in the hallway. I thought he was cute and came to class every time after our meeting wearing my cutest clothes...but he didn't talk to me again for a few weeks. He asked me out on a date to the movies and then to make sno-cones back at his apartment with his roommates. The rest, as they say, is history.

8. What is your favorite night time tv show?
Oh my goodness. I'm obsessed with Parenthood. It's my fave and I want to be a part of the Braverman family. I cry during every. single. episode. No lie.

9. How did you come up with your blog name?
Well, I wanted something easy to remember that incorporated a huge part of who I am. I love being married to my sweet hubby, and I am so proud to be his wife, so Maggie the Mrs. just made sense.

10. Where is your all time favorite place to shop?
Target. For everything. They have wonderful clothes, home decor, gifts, and even groceries. It's a one stop shop. I am so jealous of all of the people who were in Ellen's audience yesterday (and pretty much every day). They each got $1500 in gift cards to Target. And a Giada dutch oven. Yes, please.

11. What is your favorite food?
Well, I have a few, but I guess I'd have to say homemade mashed potatoes. I just can't do the fake ones. Even though some people say that there are some that taste like the real thing, I just don't believe them.

So- here are the 11 fabulous bloggers I'm nominating. If you're not following them yet, you should probably get on that!

Ashley @  We Loved Here
Tasha @  A Lott to Love
Meagan @ Call Me Mrs
Jenna @  Life Is Sweet
Rachel @  The Easleys

And last but not least, here are their 11 questions:
1) If you had to give yourself an entirely new name, what would it be and why?
2) If you had to hear only one song on repeat for every minute of the rest of your life, what song would you choose?
3) If a movie was made about you, what celebrity would play you and, if you're married, your hubby?
4) What was your favorite class that you've ever taken? (High school, college, etc)
5) What is the best vacation you've ever been on?
6) If money was no object, what would you want to do with your life?
7) What is your favorite holiday? Why?
8) If you could be a back up singer for any musician, who would you choose?
9) What talk show would you like to guest host?
10) Whose blog inspires you the most?
11) If you could describe your blog in three words, what would they be?

I can't wait to see who you've nominated and to read your answers to these questions!

Sending lots of love your way!

  1. I LOVE THIS! I feel like i am getting to know you reading it!!!

  2. I feel so honored! I'll have to get right on this tonight!

  3. i love crafting and cooking with you!! and speaking of cooking... could you send me your chicken casserole recipe, please??

  4. Conrats on the Liebster!! :)

I'm in my early 20's and I am already greying. I blame it on my husband and son. ;) Hah! Hubby tried to pull one out the other day and I slapped his hand away. I told him that I don't want 3 more to grow in it's place so leave me alone!

  5. LOVED reading this and getting to know you better!!
I love how much you love to cook and craft! I like cooking because I have to survive off my food :) (but I hate baking) and I'll only craft with friends. I get way too frustrated and stressed doing it by myself!
